Fiestas Patrias

Imagen
Hi everyone: In this particular blog, I will talk about what I did in the week of 18, when chileans celebrate "Fiestas Patrias". It was a quiet week, I made the most of my time because the university gives us a free week but I didn´t do many things of interest, mainly I rested from the university haha and watch films but I went to a friend's birthday, it was a nice celebration, we drank terremotos and we ate delicious food and danced until it was late. Another day I went to a celebration in a friend's department but in this opportunity I go away early because the return to classes was near so I had to study. In the last weekend of the free week I get together with some friends of Bachillerato in a park and we ate some choripanes and drank beer. With my family, one day we met to eat asado wich is a tradition of every year and in other opportunity with my parents and a sister we went to Pomaire (near to Santiago) for the day and we saw a lot of clay craftwork an...

Something I did last weekend

Imagen
Hi everyone On this day, I will tell you about something I did last weekend, on Thursday, September 7. During the last time I saw a different videos and photos about a temple of the Baha'i religion, this temple is located in Peñalolén at the end of the Greece avenue. In the photos, the temple looks very beautiful and the religion woke up my attention, so I decided to visit and know this place with a friend. We gather together in a metro station like at 3 pm and we took a bus that we left us on the entrance of the place an hour later, from the entrance of the place to the entrance of the temple there were about 20 minutes walking along a inclined street, but in the middle of the street a car took us to the temple. The temple has an original architecture and is surrounded by gardens, it also has a privileged view of Santiago, it is a place to contemplate and rest of the city. Best of all is the sunset, because it is very impressive, so I recommend that you to visit it at least ...

An event

Imagen
Hi Englishbloggers! Sincerely, I don´t like the concerts so much unless it is from an artist that I really like, but I went a few times to see a tributes bands. From the other hand I remember visited some exhibitions like "El salón del automóvil" haha or "Bodies" but nothing that I really enjoyed. So it comes to my head sports events, like the first football game that I went to see, that is the final in 2009 between Colo-Colo and Universidad Católica in the Monumental stadium. But I want to tell you something different, in Santiago on march, 2014 were performed the X Southamerican Games, that was the perfect option to see high perfomance athletics, I remember to went almost all the days of the event with my dad, brothers, a cousin or alone haha, but it was one competition that I remember perfectly until today, the final of 5000m men.  In this final in the National stadium participated the chilean athlete Víctor Aravena, that day were in the stadium 30.0...

Free topic

This week is free topic so I want to talk about an outdoor activity that I’m doing since a year and a half with a friend, this activity is trekking, it consists of walk along trails in natural environments or semi-naturals such as a hill, woods, the coast or anything you can imagine. In Santiago we are privileged in this sense, because the city is located in a valley surrounded by hills and the imposing Cordillera de Los Andes, reason why it is very easy to have access to them, even in public transport. From the day I started I have already done 6-7 trekkings (the most common in Santiago). The last trek was a month ago in cerro Pochoco and the next I hope it is the Alto el Naranjo. I like doing this activity because it is a fun way to exercise, breathe clean air, disconnect from the city and see the local flora and fauna (in Pochoco passed near my condors and in the distance I could see a fox). I hope in the next months I can climb hills of mayor complexity and visit some...
